MUSCAT – The vessel was travelling from the Socotra Archipelago to Al Ghaydah in Yemen’s Al Mahrah Governorate.
In a statement, the embassy thanked Omani authorities for their rapid intervention following the vessel’s distress call, highlighting the efforts made to ensure the safety of all passengers on board.
The embassy particularly commended the Royal Navy of Oman, the Coast Guard, and other relevant authorities for handling the incident with what it described as a high level of efficiency and professionalism. Omani rescue teams successfully towed the vessel to the Port of Salalah, where passengers received assistance and the boat underwent maintenance procedures.
