MUSCAT – The campaign, spearheaded by the Drug Safety Centre, aims to educate the public about the dangers of counterfeit medical products, how to identify suspicious items, and the proper channels for reporting them to authorities.

According to the Ministry, counterfeit medical products often imitate authentic brands and packaging, making them difficult for consumers to distinguish from legitimate products. However, despite their convincing appearance, such products may contain harmful ingredients, incorrect dosages, or fail to meet established quality and safety standards.
“A counterfeit medical product may seem safe, but its effects can be dangerous,” the Ministry said, urging consumers to check products carefully before use, and report any suspicious product.
