MUSCAT : The Embassy of India in Oman said it had been informed of the incident earlier on Thursday and is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with local authorities as further details emerge.
According to preliminary information, the vessel identified as the MT Jalveer experienced a fire in the engine room and funnel areas. The cause of the incident remains under investigation, with maritime security agencies and relevant authorities coordinating response measures at the scene.
Efforts are currently focused on the safe evacuation of the crew from the vessel to Shinas Port, with assistance provided by the Royal Navy of Oman.
