MUSCAT – The FSA has directed applicants who previously submitted registration and licensing requests to practise the accounting and auditing profession through the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion to complete their procedures with the authority within 30 days.

The directive follows the transfer of regulatory responsibilities for the accounting and auditing profession to the FSA under Royal Decree No. 20/2024, which established the authority and issued its statute.
According to an FSA circular, applicants must update their records, submit all required documents and complete the registration and licensing process within 30 days from June 2, 2026.

The authority warned that any procedures or approvals granted before the issuance of the Royal Decree will be considered invalid if applicants fail to complete the required steps within the specified timeframe.
The FSA urged all concerned parties to finalise their applications through the designated electronic channels to avoid disruptions to their licensing status.

The circular forms part of the authority’s efforts to strengthen regulation, supervision and oversight of the accounting and auditing profession, while ensuring the accuracy of the Accountants and Auditors Register and verifying compliance with approved legal requirements.
