MUSCAT — The decree stipulates that the provisions of the Civil Society Organizations Law shall come into force, and that those addressed by its provisions must adjust their status in accordance with it within a period not exceeding one year from the date of its entry into force.
It also mandates the Minister of Social Development to issue the executive regulations of the law within one year from its effective date, along with the necessary regulations and decisions to implement its provisions. Existing regulations and decisions shall remain in force until new ones are issued, provided they do not conflict with the provisions of the new law.
The decree abolishes the Law on Civil Associations issued by Royal Decree No. 14/2000, as well as any provisions that contradict or conflict with the new law.
It further states that the decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force on the day following its publication.
