MUSCAT : The programme was launched under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Ghalib bin Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, with the participation of officials from the public and private sectors.
The initiative is being implemented through a strategic partnership between the ministry, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), aiming to enable national factories to adopt globally recognized best practices in operational excellence and continuous improvement.

As part of the first phase, agreements were signed with nine participating companies and factories, each of which will implement practical improvement projects based on the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
Completion of these projects is a prerequisite for qualification and certification at the Green Belt level.
The programme focuses on reducing waste, lowering production costs, improving product quality by minimizing delays and errors, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and strengthening local value addition through greater localization of manufacturing processes.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said the initiative is expected to generate annual financial savings exceeding RO 350,000 across participating factories through structured improvement projects supervised by accredited experts.
