MUSCAT: Oman has recorded temperatures above 50°C for the second consecutive day, underscoring the severity of the summer heat gripping the Sultanate.
According to data released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Mahout in Al Wusta Governorate recorded the highest temperature in the country over the past 24 hours at 50.4°C on Thursday.
The reading comes just a day after Oman registered temperatures above the 50°C mark, highlighting the persistence of extreme heat conditions across several regions.

Dima Wa Tayeen recorded the second-highest temperature at 49.4°C, followed by Bidiyah at 48.7°C, Fahud at 48.6°C, Um Al Zamayim at 48.5°C and Al Mudhaibi at 48.3°C.
Other areas among the hottest locations in the Sultanate included Al Qabil (48.1°C), Al Jazir (48.0°C), Samail (47.9°C), Haima (47.6°C) and Ibra (47.3°C).
