MUSCAT : As part of its ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure, the municipality continues to implement new projects to reduce rainwater accumulation and improve traffic flow across key areas of the capital.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Saeed Al Amri, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of the surface water drainage network and mitigating the impact of heavy rainfall.
The project is expected to address challenges related to rainwater accumulation through sustainable engineering solutions, while also improving traffic safety, protecting infrastructure, and ensuring continuity of services in the area amid rapid urban expansion and population growth.
The works will include the design and implementation of rainwater drainage channels in Al Mawaleh, incorporating box culverts, side protections, and secondary drainage channels.
