MUSCAT : Parts of Oman experienced intense heat on Wednesday, with Mahout in Al Wusta Governorate recording the highest temperature in the Sultanate at 50°C, according to data released by Oman Meteorology under the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The latest temperature update, issued at 2:10pm on June 3, 2026, showed several areas across the country approaching extreme heat levels, particularly in the interior and desert regions.
A number of locations recorded temperatures of 48°C, including Mahout, Al Ramayim, Thumrait, Dama wa Al Tayeen, Bidiyah, Tharwa, and Qarn Al Alam, while Al Mudhaibi, Mudhaibi, and Adam registered 47°C.

Elsewhere, temperatures ranged between the low 40s and mid-40s across many governorates, reflecting the ongoing summer heatwave affecting large parts of the Sultanate.
Weather authorities have urged residents to take precautions during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and follow official weather updates issued by Oman Meteorology.
The latest readings come as temperatures continue to rise across Oman ahead of the peak summer season, with inland and desert regions typically recording the highest daytime temperatures during June and July.
