MUSCAT : India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called on Indian businesses to fully leverage the opportunities created by the newly implemented India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), describing it as a landmark pact that will deepen economic ties between the two countries.
Presiding over the ceremony marking the agreement’s entry into force alongside Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada, Goyal said the occasion was marked by multiple consignments from across India being shipped to Oman under the preferential access framework established by the CEPA.
“The day was marked with multiple consignments from various parts of the country leaving for Oman, benefiting from preferential access,” Goyal said in a statement shared on social media.

He urged Indian exporters to make full use of the agreement’s benefits and engage with export facilitation mechanisms designed to support businesses entering the Omani market.
“Urged Indian exporters to fully leverage the opportunities created by this landmark agreement by engaging with export facilitation desks,” he said.
Highlighting the broader strategic significance of the pact, Goyal said the CEPA should serve as a platform for expanding cooperation beyond traditional trade.
