Oman swelters as temperatures edge closer to 49°C

Saham records 48.6°C, the highest temperature in Oman, while several regions exceed 47°C.

MUSCAT – Saham recorded the highest temperature in Oman on Sunday, reaching a scorching 48.6°C, according to data released by the Civil Aviation Authority’s meteorological stations.

Several other locations across the Sultanate also experienced extreme heat, with Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi registering 47.9°C, followed by Sohar at 47.7°C and Fahud at 47.4°C. Al Rustaq recorded 47.3°C, while Dima Wat Tayeen reached 47.1°C.

Temperatures remained significantly high in other regions, with Wadi Al Maawil recording 46.8°C. Muqshin, Sur, Bidbid and Muhkaiznah each registered 46.6°C, highlighting the widespread nature of the intense heat conditions across the country.
