MUSCAT – In an awareness advisory, the authority said fraudsters often ask victims to transfer advance payments to secure reservations or cover initial fees before cutting off communication, only for victims to later discover that the property listing was fake.
The TRA urged the public not to make any advance payments before verifying that the property or service actually exists. Residents were also advised to visit the location in person to confirm ownership of the chalet or apartment and to deal only with licensed offices or registered companies.
