Oman to launch new youth-focused programmes under Vision 2040, says Minister

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth says upcoming initiatives will focus on discovering young talent, enhancing quality of life and expanding services across governorates.

MUSCAT : His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, said the ministry will launch a new package of programmes and initiatives aimed at empowering youth, discovering talents and strengthening Oman’s cultural and sports presence locally and internationally.

Speaking during a media meeting organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the minister said the culture, sports and youth sectors together represent an integrated national system focused on human development, strengthening Omani identity and improving quality of life.

He said the ministry’s upcoming plans are aligned with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Oman Vision 2040, with a focus on enabling youth and creating a supportive environment for their growth and development.

According to the minister, the ministry will work during the next phase on launching quality programmes and activities aimed at identifying and refining youth talents while building their capabilities and preparing an environment that supports innovation and creativity.

He added that the ministry continues to implement projects and initiatives based on the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, focusing on increasing community impact, expanding outreach to governorates and improving infrastructure and services related to culture, sports and youth sectors.

The minister also stressed the importance of strengthening Oman’s presence culturally, sportingly and youth-wise at both regional and international levels through strategic initiatives and long-term development plans.
