MUSCAT : The Indian Social Club Oman hosted a heartfelt farewell reception in honour of G. V. Srinivas, celebrating his distinguished tenure and contribution towards strengthening India–Oman relations and deepening ties with the Indian community in the Sultanate.
The event brought together dignitaries, community leaders and members representing all linguistic wings and groups of the Indian Social Club, making it a fitting tribute to the outgoing Ambassador. 



Welcoming the gathering, Suhail Khan, Chairman of ISC Oman, reflected on Ambassador Srinivas’ impactful tenure and leadership. He highlighted several milestones during the Ambassador’s time in Oman, including reforms introduced at the Indian Embassy, the coordination surrounding the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Oman, and the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

Khan also praised the Ambassador’s accessibility, humility and ability to foster meaningful people-to-people connections with the Indian diaspora in Oman. 
A major highlight of the evening was the presentation of the design concept for the ISC Amerat Project by Shakeel K.M. along with project consultant Tufail Ahmed. The presentation provided attendees with an overview of the vision and future plans for the landmark community initiative. 
This was followed by a presentation on the project’s marketing and sponsorship roadmap by Govind Negi and Manoj Ranade, who outlined partnership opportunities and future development plans. 
The evening also featured cultural performances by Shamshad and Jaikumar, adding a musical and cultural touch to the farewell gathering. 
Speaking during the programme, Sandeep Malhotra commended Ambassador Srinivas for his efforts in strengthening community engagement and fostering unity among the Indian diaspora during his tenure in Oman. 
Addressing the audience, Ambassador Srinivas reflected on his journey and experiences in Oman, sharing memorable moments from his diplomatic tenure while expressing gratitude to the Indian community for their support and warmth throughout his stay in the Sultanate. 
In an emotional moment during the evening, the Ambassador rendered the community song “Chalo Chalein Hum”, drawing applause and creating a memorable conclusion to the celebration. 
As a mark of appreciation, Ambassador Srinivas was felicitated by the ISC Management Committee, linguistic wings and various community groups in recognition of his service, leadership and lasting contribution to the Indian community in Oman.
