Oman’s inventors shine at ITEX 2026 with gold-winning innovations

Oman has secured four medals, including three gold and one silver, at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2026) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR : Represented by the Research and Innovation Authority, Oman competed among more than 1,000 inventions from 17 countries at one of the world’s leading innovation exhibitions.

The achievement highlights the rapid progress being made in Oman’s research and development landscape, showcasing the ability of Omani innovators to develop advanced technological and medical solutions aligned with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Innovator Nahya bint Nasser Al Hamdani won a gold medal for her project featuring smart glasses integrated with a mobile application designed to help blind and visually impaired individuals safely interact with their surroundings.

Another gold medal, along with the award for Best Invention at the exhibition, was awarded to innovator Luqman bin Sulaiman Al Dhafri for his “Drone-Air Lens” project. The innovation focuses on automated aircraft inspection using drones powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.

Innovator Zaher bin Salem Al-Alawi also secured a gold medal for his project titled “An Advanced Biotherapeutic Platform,” aimed at accelerating the healing of chronic and diabetic wounds through smart delivery technologies.

Meanwhile, innovator Balqis bint Salem Al-Hakmani earned a silver medal for her medical innovation, a closed-loop smart system designed to regulate potassium levels in heart patients.
