Dubai: Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said the decision came after a comprehensive review of the country’s national production policy and future energy capacity.

In a statement shared on social media, Al Mazrouei stressed that the move was based solely on the UAE’s national interests and reflected the country’s commitment to maintaining stability in global energy markets amid changing economic and geopolitical conditions.

“The UAE’s sovereign and strategic decisions are made in line with its national interests and independently from speculation or misleading narratives,” Al Mazrouei said.

The minister also dismissed speculation surrounding the withdrawal, clarifying that the move was not politically motivated and did not signal any disagreement or division between the UAE and its international partners.

He added that the decision aligns with the UAE’s long-term strategic direction in the energy sector, particularly as the country continues to expand its production capabilities and focus on future development priorities.
