MUSCAT — The Central Board of Secondary Education has defended its evaluation process following discussions on social media over Class 12 examination results and the use of its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
In a statement, CBSE said the digital evaluation method was introduced to ensure greater transparency, consistency and accuracy in the marking process across subjects and regions. The Board explained that the OSM system allows examiners to assess answer scripts step by step, helping reduce manual errors and maintain uniform standards nationwide.
CBSE said the technology-driven platform forms part of its broader initiative to modernise examination procedures and strengthen objectivity in assessments.
