OETC participates in Oman Sustainability Week 2026

OETC is competing for the Oman Sustainability Week Awards for the third consecutive year, within the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Category.

MUSCAT : As part of its ongoing efforts to uphold the highest environmental, social, and governance standards alongside drawing inspiration from local and international successful experiences, OETCs participating in this year’s Oman Sustainability Week Awards Ceremony, held under the patronage of H.E.E Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals as part of the Oman Sustainability Week 2026 activities taking place from 17 to 20 May 2026. This year’s edition is launched under the theme “Sustainability in Action: Innovation, Investment, Impact”, with broad international participation from more than 10 countries, the presence of 200 speakers and sustainability experts, and over 100 exhibition stands representing local and international organizations.

OETC is competing for the Oman Sustainability Week Awards for the third consecutive year, within the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Category. This participation reflects the company’s commitment to showcasing its efforts, achievements, and initiatives that contribute to building a sustainable future for Oman, besides realizing Oman Vision 2040, the national and international aspirations in environment protection, carbon emissions reduction and Net-Zero goals to name a few. The company previously won the Gold Category Award in both the 2024 and 2025 editions, demonstrating the success of its projects, continuation of its initiatives and its steady progress toward sustainability.

Samira Salem Al-Mughairi, Communications and Sustainability Manager at OETC, affirmed that the company is committed to adhering to all global sustainability standards, particularly those related to environment, social responsibility, governance, and economic performance. She emphasized OETC’s continuous development and improvement in its performance, initiatives, and achievements, as well as its efforts to ensure alignment between its strategies and targets with national and global sustainability aspirations.

She also highlighted the importance of participating in this major event, which provides an opportunity to explore the latest practices, exchange successful sustainability experiences, engage with experts locally and regionally, with the aim of enhancing operational efficiency in the energy and electricity sector.

OETC is responsible for the transmission network and load dispatch across the national grid, covering all governorates of the Sultanate. The company also manages interconnections with the GCC Interconnection Grid at 220 kV and operates under the Nama Group framework to support Oman’s vision of building a secure, reliable, and sustainable electricity ecosystem.
