MUSCAT : The authority issued a public notification stressing the importance of complying with environmental regulations aimed at reducing plastic waste and protecting the environment.
According to the Environment Authority, anyone found violating the ban on the use of plastic shopping bags will face an administrative fine of not less than RO 50 and not more than RO 1,000. The authority also warned that the penalty will be doubled in cases of repeated violations.
