MUSCAT: In line with its unwavering commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and community service, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has implemented its annual Tadhamun programme for the 14th consecutive year, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development. This year, the programme aims to support over 160 families from across the Sultanate’s governorates through the distribution of essential home appliances and household furniture to low-income families who have received homes under the Social Housing Programme.

With this year’s edition, the total number of families to have benefitted from the programme since its inception now exceeds 3,726. The programme is implemented as part of the Bank’s Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, which is focused on delivering long-term benefits to the community and contributing to social welfare across the Sultanate.

This year, the distribution of home appliances and furniture was carried out on a continuous, year-round basis across the Sultanate’s various governorates. This approach was adopted to ensure faster, more responsive support for families in need, with priorities identified by the Ministry of Social Development to guarantee timely and targeted delivery.

The Tadhamun programme, one of Bank Muscat’s flagship CSR initiatives, operates in close coordination with specialists from the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, who are responsible for receiving and reviewing applications and finalising the list of eligible beneficiaries. A dedicated team subsequently conducts detailed assessments of each case to identify the specific needs of the targeted families and ensure that their essential requirements are met.

Speaking about the programme, Talib Saif Al Makhmari, Head of Community and Media Relations at Bank Muscat, said: “Year on year, we strive to develop and enhance our annual CSR and sustainability programmes to better serve all segments of society across the Sultanate. The Tadhamun programme is one of our core social responsibility initiatives, and we remain firmly committed to implementing it on an annual basis in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development. Through our programmes, we always strive to deliver lasting impact to society across every corner of our beloved Oman.”

Bank Muscat’s CSR and community programmes and initiatives encompass a number of key flagship programmes alongside Tadhamun, including the Maliyat Academy financial literacy initiative, the Green Sports programme supporting local sports, the Al Wathbah Academy programme targeting small and medium enterprises, as well as various community initiatives that the Bank continuously implements.
