MUSCAT – The ROP, represented by the Directorate General of Customs, has issued a directive requiring port operators, freight forwarders, and customs clearance firms to ensure complete and accurate entry of export shipping manifest data, effective May 17, 2026.
The authority said the move makes it mandatory to include full shipment details, particularly the actual container numbers linked to exports, in a bid to improve the reliability of cargo data and streamline customs processes.
According to the Directorate, the measure is designed to enhance the efficiency and quality of customs procedures while supporting smoother trade flows through better data accuracy and transparency.
