MUSCAT : Oman and Russia discussed expanding economic and investment cooperation during talks in Muscat on Monday, focusing on priority sectors including energy, infrastructure, logistics, food security and information technology.
His Excellency Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, received a Russian delegation led by Maxim Reshetnikov, Russia’s Minister of Economic Development, who is currently visiting the Sultanate.
The two sides reviewed opportunities for joint work and promising investment prospects aligned with the priorities of both Oman and the Russian Federation, according to details released after the meeting .

Discussions also covered existing cooperation between the two countries in key strategic sectors and ways to strengthen investment partnerships, particularly in energy, infrastructure, logistics, food security and information technology .
Both sides highlighted the importance of expanding economic and investment ties and strengthening the role of the public and private sectors to support economic integration and sustainable development efforts in both countries.
The meeting underscored the need to deepen economic partnerships and open new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation, reinforcing shared interests between the two countries.
The Russian ambassador to Oman, along with officials from the Oman Investment Authority and chief executives of several OIA-affiliated companies, also attended the meeting
