BARCELONA – The Omani pavilion attracted strong interest from regional and international markets, with business engagements recorded with importers and distributors from Africa, Europe, and Asia, opening new opportunities for the growth of Omani exports.
Khaled bin Sulaiman Al Salehi, Director General of Marketing and Commercial Affairs and official spokesperson for the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), said the results reflect the value of such international participation in expanding export opportunities and building global confidence in Omani products.
He added that Madayn promoted investment opportunities in the industrial sector, particularly in fish industries, including fish processing and preservation, crustaceans, molluscs, aquaculture, and specialised seafood retail outlets. He noted that feasibility studies for selected investment opportunities were prepared in cooperation with relevant entities and expert consultants.
Dr Masoud bin Sulaiman Al Azri, Director General of Agriculture and Fisheries Marketing and spokesperson for the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources, said the participation supports efforts to increase the fisheries sector’s contribution to GDP.
He noted that Oman’s annual fish production exceeded 900,000 tonnes in 2025, with exports reaching 84 countries worldwide. He also highlighted strong growth in processing industries, value-added marine products, aquaculture investments, and cold chain logistics.
He said participation in the exhibition provides an important platform to exchange expertise and explore the latest technologies and innovations in the seafood sector, contributing to the development of production and marketing systems in Oman.
Noor bint Mohammed Al Rawahi, Head of Marketing at Madayn, said many visitors expressed interest in investing or expanding operations in Oman, particularly in industrial cities, citing competitive incentives, integrated services, and a supportive business environment for fisheries-related industries.
Engineer Asma bint Hamoud Al Hinai, Director of the Office for Monitoring the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040 at the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources, said the participation highlights national efforts to develop an integrated fisheries system focused on quality improvement, sustainability practices, and supply chain efficiency, strengthening Oman’s position as a regional hub for the sector.
She added that this also reflects Oman’s commitment to expanding international presence and enhancing economic partnerships in high-quality marine products.
Maryam bint Khamis Al Ismaili from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones said the exhibition, the largest of its kind globally, offers key opportunities to attract investment into food and seafood industries across special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities, supported by competitive incentives.
Lubna bint Mohammed Al Harthi, Director of Export Development at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said the event enabled Omani companies to hold bilateral meetings with international buyers, explore industry trends, and expand access to global markets.
