MUSCAT – The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Diwan Hall in Muscat, took place as part of the Somali minister’s official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
Discussions covered ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries across various sectors, with both sides highlighting the importance of advancing partnership and supporting shared interests.
The ministers also reviewed the latest developments in the region, particularly in the Horn of Africa, underlining the need to support regional and international efforts aimed at promoting security, stability, and sustainable development.

His Excellency Al Busaidi reaffirmed Oman’s firm position in support of Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as respect for the will of its people. He also reiterated Oman’s non-recognition of any entities outside the framework of the Somali state.
For his part, the Somali minister expressed appreciation for Oman’s constructive diplomatic role and its continued efforts to support dialogue, stability, and reconciliation initiatives in the region.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Omar Al Marhoun, Head of the Arab Department, and His Excellency Bashir Hassan Haji, Somalia’s Ambassador to Oman, along with a number of officials from both sides.
