Primary health care forum kicks off in Oman’s Jabal Akhdar

The Primary Health Care Forum, organised by the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, began today in the Wilayat of Jabal Akhdar.

MUSCAT : The forum brings together health professionals and experts to discuss the latest scientific developments in primary health care and review successful initiatives.

It features several working papers and field initiatives, including a review of the “Read Me” initiative related to the food card, as well as the “Ghiras” and “Wellness Bag” initiatives. The discussions aim to produce practical recommendations to improve service quality and promote digital transformation and innovation across health institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.



Ahmed bin Saif Al Sabari, Head of the Quality Assurance and Patient Safety Department, said the forum reflects the importance of integration among health institutions and reinforces continuous development and innovation in the health sector. He noted that these efforts contribute to building a more efficient and sustainable health system capable of keeping pace with change and meeting societal aspirations, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

He added that the forum addresses key topics of interest to the Ministry of Health, including innovation in the health system, digital transformation, and updates in the management of common and chronic diseases, which represent essential pillars for the future of modern healthcare and its sustainability.

The forum was held under the patronage of Dr. Sami bin Sulaiman Al Farsi, Director General of the Women and Child Health Centre at the Ministry of Health, in the presence of Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al Muqbali, Director General of Health Services in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
