Muscat – The crescent moon marking the start of Dhu al-Qa’dah for the year 1447 AH was not sighted on Friday evening, authorities said, meaning the current month of Shawwal will complete 30 days.
Accordingly, Saturday has been declared the final day of Shawwal, with Dhu al-Qa’dah expected to begin the following day.
The Islamic calendar follows lunar cycles, and the start of each month is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon.
