MUSCAT – Funded by OIA-affiliated companies, the project – to be implemented with total investment exceeding RO 2.3 million, fulfils Royal directives to enhance specialised care and community integration for individuals with autism across Oman’s governorates.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr Abdullah bin Hamoud Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Social Development, and Muneer bin Ali Al Muneeri, Deputy President for Operations at the Oman Investment Authority.
The centre will be built on a 4,550-square-metre site, and will have the capacity to serve up to 120 cases.

The project comes in response to Royal directives to assess the need for autism care centres across governorates and implement them based on demand. It aims to enhance the quality of care, broaden services for individuals with ASD and their families, and strengthen community engagement.
Officials said the initiative reflects a broader push by OIA and its companies to champion social investment and support national priorities within the social welfare ecosystem. The partnership between the authority, its subsidiaries, and the Ministry of Social Development is also expected to foster stronger institutional collaboration and synergy.
In a statement, the Oman Investment Authority highlighted that the project underscores its commitment to sustainable development by supporting initiatives that enable the effective integration of beneficiaries into society.
