MUSCAT – In a statement, the Authority stressed the importance of protecting natural areas and refraining from driving vehicles over green spaces or engaging in practices that may deface or degrade them.
The authority said such actions have negative impacts on vegetation cover and the broader ecological balance, particularly in environmentally sensitive areas across the Sultanate.
It further noted that damaging green spaces constitutes a violation of the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Law, as well as the Law on Nature Reserves and Wildlife Conservation in Oman.
Offenders will be subject to legal measures in accordance with applicable environmental regulations, it added.
