Bangkok: Oman sealed qualification after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Hong Kong, in a match that showcased the team’s high competitive spirit, technical sharpness, and physical readiness.
Standout performer Osama bin Ramadan was awarded Best Player, becoming the third Omani player to receive the accolade during the qualifiers.
With a perfect tally of 9 points, Oman currently leads Group A, ahead of Indonesia (6 points), Hong Kong (3 points), while Thailand and Kazakhstan trail with one point each.

The national team began its campaign with an emphatic 4-1 win over Indonesia, followed by a 2-1 victory against Thailand, underlining its tactical discipline, defensive solidity, and attacking efficiency throughout the tournament.


The qualifiers feature nine Asian teams split into two groups, with the top two from each advancing to the semifinals. Six teams from this stage will join already qualified sides, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and China.
Oman will conclude its group stage against Kazakhstan before heading into the semifinals to face Uzbekistan, the second-placed team from Group B, as they continue their push towards the podium.
