Oman’s Environment Authority warns against unverified air quality reports on social media

The Environment Authority issued a clarification regarding circulating information on air quality from unverified applications, urging the public to rely only on official sources.

MUSCAT – In a statement, the Authority underscored its commitment to transparency in environmental data, noting that air quality indicators are published directly through the approved ‘Naqi’ platform, which is based on readings from officially monitored stations operating around the clock.

The Authority warned that some unofficial applications may use estimated or unverified data, potentially resulting in inaccurate information and causing unnecessary public concern.
