Oman’s CPA urges retailers to join ‘Consumer-Friendly Establishments’ initiative to boost market trust

The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) is inviting commercial, industrial, and service institutions across Oman to regularise their status and enhance service quality through the ongoing ‘Consumer-Friendly Establishments’ initiative.

MUSCAT : According to a CPA statement, the initiative is structured to evaluate commercial, industrial, and service institutions based on their ability to provide high-quality services to Omani and non-Omani consumers.

The initiative targets businesses across sectors, with a particular focus on retail establishments, including hypermarkets and supermarkets, and aims to encourage adherence to established service standards. Institutions that meet these standards may be classified as a consumer-friendly institution.

Businesses that achieve the classification gain several benefits, including a comprehensive evaluation report highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, a Consumer Friendly Organisation certificate, and the right to announce their classification in media outlets for promotional purposes if they score 80 percent or higher. Additionally, qualifying institutions receive a Consumer Friendly Institution card.
