Cloudy skies, scattered rain expected in parts of Oman today

Partly cloudy conditions with chances of rainfall are expected across parts of Oman today, particularly along the coasts of Dhofar and in Al Wusta Governorate, according to Oman Meteorology.

MUSCAT – Cloud cover is forecast over the coasts and mountains of Dhofar Governorate, with scattered rain of varying intensity likely. Elsewhere, skies will remain clear to partly cloudy, with a chance of isolated rainfall in Al Wusta. Low clouds or fog may develop late at night or early morning in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

Winds will be light to moderate northwesterly across the Sultanate, occasionally becoming active. Sea conditions are expected to be rough along the Arabian Sea coasts and the western shores of Musandam Governorate, with wave heights reaching up to three metres. Other coastal areas will see calm to moderate seas, with waves up to two metres.

Authorities have warned of reduced horizontal visibility in areas affected by fog or thunderstorms, although visibility will generally remain good elsewhere.

Similar weather conditions are forecast tomorrow, with partly cloudy skies over Dhofar and a chance of rain, while the rest of the country will see clear to partly cloudy conditions. Low clouds or fog may form in parts of Al Wusta and Dhofar.
