MUSCAT : The sectors of the National Emergency Management Committee continue coordinated operations across affected governorates, focusing on safeguarding citizens and residents while ensuring the continuity of basic services.

In the relief and shelter sector, a total of 533 individuals have been accommodated since the onset of the weather system. Currently, nine shelters remain operational across various governorates, housing 253 people.

The Medical Response and Public Health Sector confirmed the temporary suspension of services at several health centers in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate due to adverse weather conditions. However, alternative arrangements have been put in place to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.

During the weather event, 17 patients were airlifted in coordination with the Royal Oman Police and the Royal Air Force of Oman. These patients were distributed across multiple healthcare facilities, including Al-Rustaq Hospital (3), Ibra Hospital (5), Sinaw Hospital (2), Ibri Hospital (1), and the kidney dialysis center in Jaalan Bani Bu Ali (6).

To maintain healthcare access, services from affected centers were redirected. Wadi Andam Health Center patients were referred to Samad Al Shan or Sinaw hospitals, while Dima Health Center patients were shifted to Dima and Al Taiyeen Hospital. Similarly, Mas Health Center services were rerouted to Dima, Al Taiyeen, or Samad Al Shan Hospital, and Wadi Nam Health Center services were transferred to Al Qabil Health Center or Ibra Hospital.

Meanwhile, the basic services sector reported widespread road disruptions due to rising water levels and overflowing wadis. Several key roads across South Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah, Ad Dakhiliyah, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, Al Wusta, and Al Dhahirah governorates have been rendered impassable.

Notable closures include Al Hawqain–Al Haymili and Wadi Bani Awf roads in South Al Batinah, multiple routes connecting Sinaw and Ibra in North Al Sharqiyah, as well as Hafit–Sa’a and Sa’a–Qumayrah roads in Al Buraimi. Additional disruptions were reported on roads such as Yanqul–Sohar and Sultan Thuwaini bin Said Road.

Authorities also warned of a partial collapse on the Kahl-Al-Samini road in the Wilayat of Mahdah due to flash floods, urging motorists to exercise caution and follow official traffic guidance.

Rescue operations remain ongoing, with civil defense and ambulance teams in Al Buraimi successfully evacuating more than 99 individuals trapped in their homes due to rising water levels. All rescued individuals are reported to be in good health.
