Muscat: Several governorates across Oman, including Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah, are witnessing thundery rain accompanied by strong downdraft winds and hail, authorities said on Friday.
Haleel bin Salem Al Hajri, Head of the Forecasts and Early Warning System Department at the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, told the Oman News Agency that the weather system is expected to continue impacting multiple regions through Friday evening into Saturday morning.
The effects are forecast to gradually extend to Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates, with intensity levels ranging from moderate to high, he added.

Al Hajri noted that conditions are expected to begin subsiding gradually by Saturday evening.
Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution, avoid crossing flooded wadis, and stay away from low-lying areas and water accumulations as unstable weather continues across the Sultanate.
