Ibra records highest rainfall at 292mm across Oman

The wilayat of Ibra recorded the highest rainfall in Oman at 292mm between March 20 and March 26, 2026, according to figures released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

MUSCAT – The data, issued at 8 am on March 26, highlights widespread and uneven rainfall distribution across the country, with several wilayats experiencing heavy precipitation exceeding 150mm. Among the most affected areas were Bahla with 212mm, Al Mudhaibi at 190mm, Dima Wattayeen at 188mm, and Al Qabil with 186mm.

Other wilayats, including Izki (178mm), Barka (174mm), Liwa (167mm), and both Sohar and Al Amerat (157mm each), also recorded significant rainfall, reflecting the intensity of the weather system that impacted multiple regions.

Moderate rainfall ranging between 100mm and 150mm was recorded in areas such as Sur, Wadi Al Maawil, Bidiyah, Bawshar, and Jabal Al Akhdar, while lower totals were observed in coastal and southern regions. Salalah recorded 34mm, Duqm 38mm, and Masirah 28mm.

Minimal rainfall was reported in some wilayats, including Haima and Thumrait at just 2mm each, while Taqah and Muqshin recorded the lowest totals at 1mm.
