MUSCAT – In a public advisory, the authority stressed that an invoice is a commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer outlining details of a transaction, including the type of goods or services, quantities, and agreed prices. It serves primarily as a record of sale.
By contrast, a contract is a legally binding agreement between two parties that defines the obligations of the seller to provide goods or services and the buyer to complete the purchase. It includes specific terms such as the nature of the goods or services, identities of the parties, delivery timelines, execution mechanisms, and other conditions designed to protect the rights of both sides.
The authority urged consumers to carefully review documents before signing or making payments.
