MUSCAT – The meeting took place as His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, received His Excellency Dr Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates. During the talks, both sides reviewed the latest regional developments and expressed deep concern over the widening scope of the conflict.
The two ministers agreed on the urgent need to halt the escalation and work toward ending the war through political and diplomatic solutions, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and reason to prevent the region from sliding into further instability.
Both sides also reiterated their rejection and condemnation of all military actions targeting Arab countries, stressing the need to stop such actions immediately while maintaining a policy of good neighbourliness and strengthening regional cooperation.
Oman and Egypt agreed to continue joint efforts to advance political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at preserving regional and international peace and security, while reaffirming the importance of respecting the United Nations Charter, international law and international humanitarian law.
During the meeting, the Egyptian minister expressed his country’s appreciation for the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and commended Oman’s mediation efforts to ease tensions and promote political solutions in the region. He also praised the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two countries in supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at enhancing regional stability.
