MUSCAT – The annual event celebrates the unique beauty of the governorate’s mountain nature. It also highlights one of the Wilayat’s most prominent agricultural resources, notably the mountain rose that has been an integral part of the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar’s heritage identity.
The festival seeks to promote the status of Al Jabal Al Akhdar as a unique tourist destination in the Sultanate of Oman. The rose season is an annual event during which visitors learn about the experience of cultivating mountain roses, their harvesting and their distillation methods that the local community has inherited over generations. The outcome is the rose water perfume, which is considered one of the finest natural aromatic products in the region.
