MUSCAT: India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday announced the postponement of additional Class 12 board examinations in several Middle East countries following a review of the evolving regional situation.
In a circular issued by the board, CBSE said the decision was taken after assessing the current circumstances in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, along with concerns over the mental stress faced by students.
“After a critical review of the current situation in parts of the Middle East and considering the mental agony of students and prevailing uncertainties, the Board has decided to postpone the examinations scheduled from March 12, 2026 to March 16, 2026,” the circular stated.

The board added that revised dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later.
CBSE also noted that the situation will be reviewed again on March 14, after which a decision will be taken regarding the remaining examinations scheduled from March 16 onwards.
Students have been advised to remain in close contact with their respective schools for updates and to carefully follow official announcements from the board.
