MUSCAT – The municipality stressed the importance of adhering to approved health regulations when storing and displaying food, noting that uncovered meals may compromise food safety and quality.
Authorities explained that leaving Iftar meals uncovered increases the risk of contamination, as food becomes vulnerable to dust, bacteria and other pollutants that may harm consumers.
The municipality also warned that exposed food can attract flies, insects and rodents, which may increase the risk of foodborne illnesses and food poisoning.
In addition, prolonged exposure to air can cause meals to dry out and alter their taste and overall quality, affecting the dining experience for customers.
