MUSCAT : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class XII board examinations scheduled for March 9, 10 and 11 across Oman and several other Middle East countries in view of the prevailing situation in the region.

In a circular issued on March 7, the board stated that the postponement applies to CBSE-affiliated schools in Oman, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

CBSE said the decision was taken after reviewing the current conditions in parts of the Middle East, with the aim of ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

The board added that fresh dates for the postponed examinations will be announced in due course.

Students have been advised to remain in contact with their respective schools for further updates and to follow official notifications issued by the board.
