MUSCAT – Oman Oil Marketing Company said on Thursday that reports circulating in some international media outlets about a recent incident involving its facilities were inaccurate, clarifying that the event occurred earlier this week and has not affected its ongoing operations.

In a statement issued on March 5, the company said the incident took place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and involved one of its fuel storage tanks located at the commercial port of Duqm Port.

The company noted that some news agencies and international television channels had described the incident in an inaccurate manner.

“Oman Oil Marketing confirms that the event targeted one of the company’s fuel tanks at Duqm Commercial Port,” the statement said, adding that operations across the company’s facilities continue without interruption.

The firm also urged media organisations and the public to ensure accuracy when reporting or sharing news and to rely on official sources for verified information.
