MUSCAT – Images and videos circulating on social media show crowded departure areas, with passengers moving through the airport’s arrival and departure halls while operations continue normally.
Despite the influx, airport operations remain steady; check-in counters are fully staffed, and flights continue to depart on schedule without reported disruptions to services.
Many of the passengers are arriving from neighbouring GCC states, particularly the United Arab Emirates, before continuing their journeys on international flights departing from Muscat.
Amid the expected rush, Oman Air has advised passengers travelling via land borders to reach border checkpoints at least 12 hours before their scheduled departure time.
In a travel advisory posted on its official social media platforms, the airline said the recommendation was issued due to high traffic volumes at border crossings, which could result in extended processing times.
