MUSCAT : Fuel storage tanks at the commercial port of Duqm were targeted by a number of drones, an Omani security source said on Tuesday, adding that one tank was hit but no casualties were recorded.

The source, according to the Oman News Agency, said the damage caused by the incident had been brought under control and emergency response teams were able to contain the situation without any reported injuries.

Oman condemned the attack, describing it as a targeting of civilian infrastructure.

“The Sultanate of Oman affirms its condemnation of the targeting and is taking all necessary measures to deal with this incident,” the source said.

Authorities did not immediately provide details on the origin of the drones or the extent of material damage. Investigations are ongoing, officials added.

Duqm, located on Oman’s southeastern coast along the Arabian Sea, is a key commercial and industrial hub and hosts major energy and logistics infrastructure.

Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
