MUSCAT – The meeting saw the participation of the GCC Foreign Ministers and the GCC Secretary-General.
The Sultanate of Oman was represented by His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.
During the session, His Excellency Sayyid Badr reiterated the Sultanate of Oman’s solidarity with the other GCC member states regarding the measures they undertake to protect their security and stability. He emphasised the importance of continued collective action to halt the ongoing war in the region, address its root causes and dangerous repercussions, and intensify diplomatic efforts and communications in this context.

The GCC Ministerial Council expressed its unequivocal rejection and strongest condemnation of the attacks that targeted the GCC states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Council noted that the GCC states have consistently championed dialogue, negotiation and the peaceful resolution of all matters with the Islamic Republic of Iran, commending the role played by the Sultanate of Oman in this regard.
The GCC Ministerial Council underscored the imperative of an immediate cessation of hostilities to restore security, peace and stability throughout the region.
