MUSCAT : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class X and Class XII board examinations scheduled for March 2, 2026, across Oman and several other Middle Eastern countries amid the evolving security situation in parts of the region.

In a circular issued on March 1, the board said the postponement applies to all CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Revised dates for the affected examinations will be announced in due course.

In Oman alone, more than 5,000 students are registered to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations this year. The decision comes as authorities across the region implement precautionary measures in response to recent developments.

CBSE advised schools, students and parents to remain in contact with their respective institutions and monitor official updates regarding the revised examination schedule.
