Oman and FAO sign 2026–2030 programming framework to enhance food security

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and Water Resources has signed a Country Programming Framework (CPF) agreement with the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation for 2026–2030.

MUSCAT : The agreement was signed by His Excellency Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary for Agriculture, and AbdulHakim Elwaer, FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa.

The framework is designed to support Oman’s efforts to advance the agriculture sector, enhance its sustainability, improve the efficiency of agricultural value chains, and strengthen natural resource management. It also aims to bolster climate action initiatives and reinforce the national food security system.
