MUSCAT : An elite group from the Pakistani community in Oman has launched its annual Ramadan Ration Drive for 2026, aiming to provide essential food supplies to more than 100 deserving families across the Sultanate during the holy month.

The initiative was formally inaugurated by His Excellency Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, at Ghuman House in Ruwi, which is serving as the central hub for collection and distribution.

During the inauguration, the Ambassador reviewed the quality and packaging of the ration kits, which include flour, sugar, cooking oil, pulses and dates — essential staples intended to help families observe Ramadan with dignity and ease.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bokhari praised the efforts of the Elite Group of the Pakistani Community in Oman, commending their continued commitment to supporting underprivileged members of the diaspora.

“The Pakistani community in Oman has always been at the forefront of philanthropic initiatives. Supporting over 100 deserving families during Ramadan reflects the true spirit of compassion and unity that defines our people,” the Ambassador said.

The drive is being coordinated by Ibrahim Ahmed and Syed Zaib Hassan Jaffery, who affirmed their commitment to ensuring that the rations reach families most in need across various regions of Oman.

Organisers said the focus this year remains on food security and easing the financial burden on low-income households during Ramadan 2026. Distribution efforts will extend from Ruwi to multiple areas across the Sultanate.

Members of the Elite Group present at the inauguration included Qamar Riaz, Ahmed Ghuman, Kashif Gujjar, Bilal Yousaf, Usman Hashmi, Ahmed Raza Qadri and Aqib Gujjar.
