MUSCAT – The Deccani Wing of the Indian Social Club (ISC), Oman, will host what is described as the largest community iftar in the Sultanate on February 27, expecting more than 5,000 individuals at the iconic Clock Tower in Ruwi.

For over 20 years, the annual Hyderabadi Community Iftar has grown into one of the most prominent Ramadan gatherings in Oman, bringing together people from different nationalities and backgrounds in a spirit of unity and service.

Organisers said elaborate preparations are underway to ensure smooth arrangements for attendees. A dedicated enclosure with seating capacity for over 1,000 women has been arranged to provide privacy and comfort.

“The Hyderabadi Community Iftar at the Clock Tower is more than just a gathering — it is a legacy of service and unity that we have proudly upheld for over 20 years,” said Suhail Khan, Head of the Organising Committee. “It is heartening to see people from all communities come together in the true spirit of Ramadan.

Dr. Wasifuddin, Convenor of the ISC Deccani Wing, said the event reflects the collective efforts of volunteers and well-wishers who work each year to serve thousands of fasting individuals.

“This annual iftar reflects the spirit of service and dedication that defines our community,” he said.

Other organisers highlighted the scale and inclusiveness of the event, noting that it has become a symbol of compassion and brotherhood during the holy month.

The Ruwi Clock Tower, long associated with the gathering, continues to serve as a landmark venue for the annual event, reinforcing traditions of community bonding among Oman’s diverse expatriate population.

Organisers have invited members of the public and well-wishers to attend the iftar, describing it as a spiritually uplifting occasion that celebrates harmony and shared values during Ramadan.
