CHINA- The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that from February 17 to December 31, 2026, ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom will be able to enjoy up to 30 days of visa-free entry for business travel, tourism, and transit purposes. The policy is part of the Chinese government’s continued efforts to boost international travel, trade and cultural exchanges after years of pandemic restrictions. The move is expected to boost tourism demand and strengthen China’s bilateral economic ties with two important Western partners.
Officials stressed that the visa waiver proposal is aimed at strengthening people-to-people connections and supporting China’s evolving role as a global destination for travelers and investors. Tourism operators and airlines are preparing marketing campaigns to take advantage of this change, and government agencies are adjusting logistics to ensure a smooth entry process.
